Site Engineer

Stormvogel requires a Site Engineer/ Project Coordinator to provide co-ordination and operational support to a construction project. Liaising with the Project Manager, Project Engineers, Site Managers and Supervisors you will facilitate the internal and external reporting and communications. This role requires involvement in the technical co-ordination of design, procurement, subcontractors, suppliers, quality assurance and programming to meet the project requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Ensure contractual obligations of both the head contract and sub contract are adhered to
- Communicate relevant project information as appropriate to consultants, authorities, sub-contractors and project staff
- Liaise with construction staff and sub- contractors in planning and executing work with particular emphasis on sequencing and timing
- Support the management team in driving the Project Management Plan
- Assist Project Engineers in undertaking programming, planning and forecasting to ensure design and construction activities adhere to the overall construction schedule
- Monitor progress, identify and report on issues which may affect the program schedule
- Develop work programs in alignment with the master construction plan
- Manage and monitor critical components of the project such as structure, façade and fit-out
- Monitor the progress of sub-contractors on site and ensure correct implementation of design
- Conduct site inspections at critical checkpoints and ensure remedial actions are carried out where required
- Provide regular reports to the Project Engineer, Site Manager and Project Manager
- Liaise with the client, the client’s agent or end users
- 2-3 years site and construction experience, with a strong understanding of building principles, and a passionate drive to learn and grow within the role
- Bachelors degree – Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Building or similar
- Knowledge of Engineering principles and experience in actual documentation delivery
- Ability to read drawings
- Knowledge of the Building Code of Australia
- Knowledge of Design, Estimating and Procurement
- Experience in tender submission
