Retail Area Manager - Based in Cairns (North QLD)

About the role:

As an Area Manager you are responsible for supporting our Retail Teams to deliver outstanding results, execute operational standards and provide an amazing customer experience, all while keeping our teams engaged and motivated. Sound like you? 

Currently responsible for 8 sites across the greater Cairns area, north to Cooktown, regular travel is required.

About you:

• You are, ideally, an experienced Area/Territory Manager preferably from within a Retail Fuel chain or Convenience network.
• You're self-motivated, setting and achieving goals, regularly achieving monthly and annual budgets whilst looking for opportunities for continuous improvement and profit growth.
• You enable others to achieve fantastic results and hold them accountable to agreed outcomes.
• You understand how to motivate and get the best out of people, coaching and supporting them to deliver on business objectives.
• You have a continuous improvement mindset with the ability to prioritise what matters most while embedding operational excellence practices across the area.
• You have a compliance mindset focussing on ensuring details are correctly implemented for policy and procedure compliance whilst keeping the big picture in mind.
• You have a strong passion to drive sales to maximise site potential.
• You are able to drive a positive culture and policy compliance.
• You actively monitor the performance of multiple retail outlets from sales, merchandising and EH&S perspectives.

What you’ll bring:

• Ideally prior FMCG or petroleum industry experience.
• 2 years in a similar role (area/territory management or multi-site operation).
• Demonstrated people leadership capabilities, using your highly developed interpersonal and communication skills in a business environment.
• Merchandising: ensuring high standards of product availability, presentation and consistency are maintained across multiple sites.
• Achieving results whilst working in a fast-paced environment.
