The Development team is looking for a polished, adaptable Senior Java Developer to work on innovative solutions across a range of Federal Government projects. We work on complex digital transformation projects across a variety of sectors, although as our largest practice is in Canberra a sizeable portion of our work is with the Federal Government. Our team delivers end-to-end data solutions to meet a wide array of technological needs. Each solution covers the full delivery lifecycle which includes architecture, design, integration and deployment. We use Agile methods to meet our client’s needs, minimise risks and maximise the outcomes of their investments in technology.

As a Senior Java Developer, you will be working within a multi-disciplinary team on industry leading projects. Key success factors within this role include:

• The ability to solve problems, having excellent attention to detail, and the ability to think laterally.
• Analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through issues individually and as part of a team.
• The ability to identify and address performance issues by writing robust code.
• Participating in design and code reviews.
• Be excited to continuously learn and keep abreast of new developments in frameworks and languages.
• Identify and resolve any technical issues that arise.
• Prepare and produce releases of software components.

What will make you a good fit for the role?

As a Senior Java Developer, you will contribute to all stages of software development lifecycle and would have experience across:

• Java 1.8 or above – minimum 8 years.
• Spiring Boot microservices – minimum 3 years.
• Knowledge and understanding of Event Driven Architecture (Kafka or any other)
• Experience using collaborative tools JIRA, Confluence
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipeline.
• Knowledge on Cloud computing such as Azure or AWS
• Experience with Agile Development methodology.
• Relational Database skill – PostgreSQL, Oracle or any other

It would be fantastic, but not essential, if you have any of the below skills:

• Elasticsearch
• Flow based programming – Nifi of similar.
• REST API client tools: Postman, Insomnia or Similar.
• Data science experience
• HD Insights.
