Health Professional (Scientific Officer) Westmead

Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology is an established and well-respected pathology practice, offering comprehensive, high-quality pathology across NSW and north-west Victoria. Our practice is managed by doctors for doctors and our success is driven by the innate understanding that Medical Leadership facilitates the highest standards of professional and operational excellence for the doctors and patients that we serve.

We seek an enthusiastic Health Professional to join our Westmead Laboratory. You will be an essential team member, and your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Providing specialist advice to internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Collaborating with other team members to achieve tasks promptly
  • Working under close supervision by senior staff in conducting complex tasks
  • Other laboratory tasks as required.

We are proud to say we have a learning and supportive environment, and full training will be provided. We are looking for the following:

  • Graduated with a Medical Science Degree or recognised AIMS equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Haematology, Coagulation, Blood Bank and Biochemistry.
  • Venepuncture experience highly regarded
  • Rostered part time hours are1500-2300. Ability to work flexible hours including weekends is essential as we are a 24 hours, 7 days a week laboratory
  • Highly knowledgeable in quality control techniques
  • Team player with the ability to work unsupervised
  • A hard-working, motivated individual with a strong work ethic
