Join our clients dynamic Project Delivery Engineering team, a close-knit group dedicated to achieving outstanding results for our clients. Based in North Sydney, this office is conveniently located within walking distance of the train station and the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. Enjoy flexible working arrangements, with an expectation of 2-3 days in the office.

Collaborate directly with major utilities and top-tier contractors on transformative water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including cutting-edge treatment plant upgrades and state-of-the-art pump stations. Their team of seasoned engineers and innovative drafters take ownership of their projects, challenge conventional designs, and continuously seek opportunities for improvement. Responsibilities:

  • Manage project design teams, sub-contractors, and stakeholders to deliver designs on time and within budget.
  • Ensure design governance to deliver high-quality design outputs meeting client requirements.
  • Prepare estimates for project design budgets and schedules.
  • Design concrete and steel structures for water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Conduct structural engineering calculations, including wind, seismic, foundation steel, and water-retaining concrete structures.
  • Provide sketches and markups for engineering drawings.
  • Utilise structural FEA modeling software (Strand 7, Microstran, and/or SpaceGass).
  • Design temporary works for construction.
  • Offer structural technical support to construction, commissioning, and maintenance teams.
  • Conduct site visits, prepare sketches, perform calculations, review drawings, and handle design engineering tasks as required.
  • Develop options assessments, concept designs, and detailed design documentation (drawings, reports, and structural inputs into other technical reports).
  • Perform condition assessments of structures.
  • Participate in/facilitate design reviews, HAZOP, CHAIR, CHAZOP, and FMECA processes.
  • Deliver measurable benefits and outcomes for projects and programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in Structural Engineering
  • 6+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Proficient in concept and detailed engineering design of steel and concrete structures
  • Experience in the water and wastewater industry
  • Skilled in designing water-retaining structures
  • Experience managing the engineering and design aspects of multi-disciplinary projects
  • Capable of preparing project design objectives, schedules, risk management plans, and cost management
  • Understanding of multi-disciplinary team dynamics
  • Ability to work independently with external local and overseas partners

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Chartered in Structural Engineering by Engineers Australia or equivalent
  • Experience in condition assessment
  • Understanding of operational requirements, process interruption issues, and brownfield installation planning
  • HAZOP/CHAIR/Other Safety in Design facilitation experience
