Our client are a household name in the financial services space, who have recently undergone a significant phase of positive transformation within the procurement function. As a result of a recent retirement, a senior level opportunity has become vacant, overseeing a key spend portfolio within their technology procurement function.


Your new role

In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of end-to-end strategic sourcing and category strategy initiatives across a technology professional services portfolio. From conception through to contract execution, you will be tasked with driving commercially beneficial and business critical outcomes and also need to manage associated risk.

Key roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Devise and execute end to end, high value strategic sourcing events across your assigned portfolio of technology professional services spend
  • Align the sourcing strategy and execution pipeline with the overall category strategy, aligning with the category leadership teams and relevant business stakeholders.
  • Foster positive, long term strategic relationships with broad groups of stakeholders throughout the organisation
  • Proactive management of your portfolio, including management of contract expiry and sourcing pipeline
  • The more senior positions (there are multiple available) will have 1-2 direct reports



What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this role, you will be an established senior procurement professional with demonstrated experience operating in a highly structured corporate environment. You will have exposure to either a pure technology professional services portfolio or broader ICT category exposure with an appetite to specialise within professional services.


You will be a strong communicator, with the ability to influence and collaborate with interna and external stakeholders to drive commercial and business outcomes, and be comfortable leading high value, complex procurement engagements end to end with tier one vendors and suppliers.

Financial services experience would be advantageous for this vacancy but non-essential. You will have to have come from a corporate procurement background to be considered.

You will have the opportunity to be a key figure in the team and to lead business critical strategic sourcing projects across considerable spend with a diverse group of vendors and suppliers.

The package for the role will be around $165-170k + super with a bonus to be paid based on company performance on top of that. The role is based in the CBD, with 2 days a week working from home flexibility as standard.
