Are you a tech-savvy leader with a knack for project management and a passion for innovation? We have an exciting opportunity for you to oversee, manage, and implement the WRL project information systems at AusNet. As the PIM, you will oversee and manage the WRL project information systems, ensuring smooth operations and protection of valuable data. You will understand the strategic and operational needs of the WRL project to develop technology solutions that enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.

Working closely with the AusNet IT Team, you will implement, support, and improve software solutions, including configuring the GIS and BIM common data environment (CDE), document management, and related workflows. In this role, you will manage an existing team of GIS analysts, data analysts, and document controllers, with the potential to expand to include a BIM lead and Construction technologies lead. Your expertise will span the project lifecycle from concept to detailed design, construction, commissioning, and asset management in operations and maintenance. Utilizing strong stakeholder management skills, you will ensure field access, scheduling, and HSEQ integration in line with AusNet’s ICT Policy framework.

Additionally, you will drive the use of data and document management systems to ensure project information and communication is secure and traceable. This role will allow you to be part of a team that values best practices, innovation, and technical expertise. With a 3/2 Hybrid split Office / WFH , this role is based in Melbourne CBD and is part of the Western Renewables Link project team, Development & Future Networks team. 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Contribute to our ability to deliver our services by demonstrating an understanding of work health safety and cyber security standards and applying them to relevant activities in the workplace.
  • Ensure compliance through actively engaging with stakeholders and maintains awareness of relevant legislation, laws, regulations, standards, codes and Ausnet policies and procedures. Influence continuous improvement and positive outcomes so they are viewed as adding value.
  • Actively collaborate to share insights, lessons learned and wins widely with others.
  • Enable accelerated culture change fostering care, curiosity, and connection through a tangible and measurable “Listen, Learn and Act” approach to employee feedback that aligns with the Values of Ausnet.
  • Build the foundations required to move at pace by looking beyond what we do today and testing new ways of doing things.

  • Contribute through the use of technology (drones, mobile devices, dashboards) to a Recordable Injury Frequency Rate targets and missionZero health & safety conversation targets.
  • Provide rules and guidance on working in the WRL information environment including in the area of information/cyber security.
  • Promote information/cyber security awareness with contractor teams.

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Bachelor of Information Systems or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role, proactively managing and improving a multi-faceted information systems in a construction/maintenance delivery environment.
  • Proven experience leading teams in the delivery and support of a diverse and complex portfolio of business-critical IT systems.
  • Significant experience at a management level, including high level strategic thinking and planning skills; and ability to transition between strategic and operational.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate, influence and gain commitment and express concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong collaborative business relationships for the benefit of the organisation.
  • PMBOK Certification and/or ITIL Fundamentals.
  • Knowledge and experience in BIM and digital solutions as it relates to design management, construction management work processes and tools, while learning and understanding client environment and unique requirements.
  • Previous experience with project BIM standards & classification system, class libraries and master data management on large scale projects.
