We are seeking a suitable candidate for a Civil Engineer - Project Leader (Mining). Our Project Leaders are an integral part of our team delivering quality services on projects from around Australia. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has extensive experience (5-15 years) in the mining sector specifically in autonomous, non-process infrastructure. We will also consider interest from high-performing Project Engineer candidates that express an interest in advancing their career to the next level.

Role Responsibilities

  1. All aspects of design in civil engineering with a focus on Mining.
  2. Leading a team to deliver civil design packages for mining infrastructure projects.
  3. Liaising with and coordinating various stakeholders, including clients, local government, and authorities.
  4. Managing projects including resourcing, scheduling, cash flow and the preparation of project budgets.
  5. Fee preparation and scope management throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  6. Preparation of design sketches and details for drafting by technical staff and oversee the design development and documentation.
  7. Liaising with and coordinating various stakeholders including clients, local government, and authorities.
  8. Meet our client expectations of projects being delivered on time and with a high degree of accuracy.
  9. Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
  10. Undertaking quality reviews for deliverables produced.
  11. Gather data and evidence to prepare engineering studies, analysis, and calculations, including the preparation of technical reports and specifications.
  12. Attend site for inspections.

We are keen to hear from candidates with 5 or more years’ experience who have a strong technical base and want to grow into project management and leadership roles. You will receive mentoring and support from Principal Civil Engineers and Project Directors, to develop and tailor your role to suit your strengths and passions to support career growth.

What You Will Bring

Key skills and experience of the successful candidate will include:

  1. Tertiary level qualifications in Civil Engineering.
  2. Relevant industry experience in a consulting environment with 5 or more years’ experience.
  3. Chartered status with Engineers Australia would be beneficial, but not essential.
  4. Strong communication and liaison abilities to engage with clients, contractors, agencies, and other team members.
  5. Ability to deal with multiple stakeholders, managing and maintaining client relationships.
  6. Ability to work accurately and efficiently within a busy client-focused team.
  7. Strong practical understanding, proactive high-level thinking, and high attention to detail.
  8. Be self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously with a focus on delivery and service.
  9. Be a team player willing to pitch in and help to get the work done.
