ABOUT THE ROLE 

AHA has a full-time employment opportunity for a Biosecurity Coordinator to join the Biosecurity team. Reporting to the Head of Program - Biosecurity, this position plays a key role in the support and coordination of project activities including planning, budgets, policies, procedures, reporting and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities of the role include: 

  • Providing project support to the Biosecurity programs including coordination, administration, analysis and reporting to enable the effective execution of the program activities. 
  • Utilise program databases to manipulate data and enable project reporting processes. 
  • Maintain awareness and proactively manage potential risks and propose innovative and practical solutions and risk mitigation measures. 
  • Work cooperatively with AHA members and stakeholders, to accomplish AHA objectives to build and maintain mutually beneficial partnerships and achieve results.

Total remuneration for this position is from $79,568 (including super) and will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s level of experience. 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

ESSENTIAL 

  • Tertiary qualifications (or currently studying towards) in Agriculture, Veterinary or Animal Science, or related fields. 
  • Sound time management and organisational skills whilst managing competing priorities. 
  • Creative and independent thinker with the ability and confidence to propose solutions to complex issues. 
  • Sound interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively with leaders and colleagues at all levels of the organisation both under instruction and independently. 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships and networks with members and key stakeholders. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Teams, contemporary office software applications, internet communication tools and database administration. 

DESIRABLE 

  • Experience in Australian agriculture and animal biosecurity. 
  • Project management qualifications and / or experience.
