Gold Coast Private Hospital is seeking a dynamic and experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead our 30 Bed Cardiology Ward. The Nurse Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the unit, ensuring the highest level of patient care and staff efficiency.

As a key member of the nursing management team you will be responsible for coordinating patient care, managing staff schedules, and implementing policies and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance and promote a safe working environment.

About Us :

Established in 2016 Gold Coast Private Hospital is a 339 bed, 22 operating theatre facility located in Southport, the heart of the Gold Coast Precinct. Specialities include and are not limited to: 24/7 Emergency Care Centre, Medical, Orthopaedic, Bariatric, Neurosurgical, Plastics, ENT & General Surgical, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care and Oncology. Position Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff in the Cardiology Unit 

• Develop and implement nursing care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team

• Monitor patient outcomes and quality metrics, implementing improvements as necessary

• Manage staffing levels and schedules to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care

• Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to staff

• Collaborate with other departments and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care

• Stay abreast of developments in cardiac care and nursing best practices, incorporating new knowledge into unit operations

• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards of care 

Selection Criteria:

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Cardiology Department, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of patient care. 

• Provide strong leadership and support to nursing staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Develop and implement strategies to optimize departmental performance, including resource management, staff development, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment for patients and staff.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and facilitate seamless transitions across the continuum of care.

• Bachelor of Science (Nursing)/ Nursing/ or equivalent
