Head of English

- Senior School Campus based in Brighton
The Head of English will provide visionary leadership to the English department, setting clear objectives and strategies for curriculum development and improvement.
They will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading the English department, fostering a love for language and literature among our students, and ensuring academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Making informed contributions to general curriculum policy and planning
- Monitoring the staff in the implementation of this curriculum
- Liaising with other Heads of Department so content is presented in an
- Oversight of the planning of extension activities and excursions to ensure a
arrangements of the School
- Liaising with the Head of Individual Learning to support student outcomes for
- Provide a climate of cooperation and trust which is supportive of staff
- Attend meetings and inservice participation in order to acquire knowledge of new skills and methods where appropriate
- Operate the department so that all staff have opportunities to contribute to
- Approval of all purchases made within the department and for maintaining
Qualifications and Experience:
- Leadership experience as a Head of Department
- Experience teaching VCE English would be advantageous
- Current VIT registration
- Current First Aid Certificate
