This organisation is a well-known state government entity in WA seeking a Portfolio Analyst who will be accountable for driving capability uplift and growth within the PMO team, Program and Projects.

Your new role

You will play a critical role in ensuring effective controls, governance, and alignment with corporate strategy and objectives. Your responsibilities will include:

Aligning Controls and Governance: Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that controls and governance practices are aligned with organisational priorities. Assist in prioritising initiatives based on strategic goals.

Defining and Maintaining Frameworks: Develop and maintain the organisational controls and governance framework. Ensure that key controls, tolerances, monitoring mechanisms, and escalation procedures are in place.

Insights and Inputs: Provide valuable insights and inputs related to governance and controls to program forums and committees. Contribute to informed decision-making processes.

Reporting and Documentation: Prepare relevant reports and documents for submission to the Executive Information Committee (EIC). Ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Cross-Portfolio Prioritisation: Facilitate cross-portfolio prioritisation and dependency management forums. Collaborate with project and program managers to prioritise initiatives effectively.

Building Trust Partnerships: Foster trust-based relationships with leaders across RWWA. Encourage seeking guidance and feedback on critical documentation, decision-making, and escalation paths.

PMO Repositories Management: Own and manage inputs and updates to the PMO repositories. Analyse and maintain financial information related to the portfolio.

Effective Communication: Provide clear and timely communication regarding relevant changes to internal stakeholders. Keep them informed about project and program updates.

Portfolio Benefits Management: Take responsibility for portfolio benefits management. Monitor and track benefits realization.

What you'll need to succeed

PMO Practice and Process Experience: Familiarity with PMO practices, processes, and Project and Program methodologies.

Program Coordination Skills: Proven experience in program coordination, including planning, task management, and stakeholder liaison.

Excellent Communication Skills: Able to communicate equally well with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Both verbal and written communication are essential.

Facilitation Skills: Above-average facilitation skills. Organised approach to work and record management.

Attention to Detail: Diligence in reporting and documentation.

Self-Organization and Collaborative Management: Demonstrate strong organisational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.

Analytics and Visual Representation of Data: Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making. Present information visually when necessary.
