Hudson is seeking a dedicated and skilled Data Analyst to join a large organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing data, preparing forecasts, and generating modelling reports for Program Team members. This role involves extracting data from multiple sources, validating it through research, and ensuring the contextual accuracy of the data presented.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze criminal justice system data to prepare forecasts and modelling reports.
  • Aggregate data and analyze trends.
  • Interpret and infer outcomes using domain experience and knowledge, particularly when dealing with complex or incomplete data.
  • Conduct statistical analysis related to various projects, operations, and activities.
  • Develop and enhance reports under general direction.
  • Prepare business cases, reports, submissions, briefings, and correspondence.
  • Lead the development of data visualizations, including dashboards, reports, and graphics.
  • Assist with the development of high-level reporting documents such as Operational Forecasts, Workforce Requirements, and strategic dashboards.
  • Present data context, interpretation logic, and describe any assumptions and limitations.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative networks with business and other stakeholders.
  • Consult with stakeholders and coordinate the collection of data from various sources.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

Essential Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience and ability to analyze, interpret, and solve complex data problems, engaging team, and management input to produce accurate and timely solutions.
  • Proven application of sound research and analytical skills for investigating issues and analysing business data associated with corrections, supporting ongoing improvement.
  • Experience and understanding of program data analytics, forecasting, and modelling methodologies.
  • Exceptional document and version control skills, ensuring the provision of current and contextual data for reporting and decision-making purposes.
  • Skills and experience in preparing reports and complex written documentation within a structured framework.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to work autonomously, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • High-level negotiation and liaison skills to achieve corporate outcomes, with the ability to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders who may have competing interests on sensitive and complex issues.
  • Capability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and function effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in the interpretation and application of legislation, policy, and procedures in an operational environment related to data analytical activities.
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks.

Qualifications:

  • While there are no mandatory qualifications for this position, a tertiary qualification in a related discipline would be highly desirable.
