Aboutthe role and team

We have anexciting opportunity for a lawyer with 1-2 years of post-admissionexperience (PAE) to join our Brisbane Corporate& Commercial team, working alongside partners and lawyers in awell-established team. The role will also offer opportunities towork with our Corporate & Commercial partners and lawyers inMelbourne, Sydney, Perth and Newcastle.

This is afantastic hands on corporate & commercial role, withsignificant learning and development opportunities from theexperienced and well regarded team and the opportunity to work withinteresting clients. The clients are a broad mix of listedcompanies, private investors and local privately owned companiesand not for profits.

Keyresponsibilities

Thesuccessful candidate will be responsible for:

  • draftingand negotiating transaction documents including share saleagreements, shareholders deeds and fundingagreements;
  • workingon a range of matters relating to capital markets and M&Atransactions, including preparation of capital raisingdocuments, due diligence, analysis of legal, contractual andother issues, and attending to regulatory matters;
  • liaisingwith clients and corporate and other advisers, as well as othergroups within our firm who provide specialist input oncorporate transactional issues (such as our Employment,Banking, Tax, Property and Projects colleagues);
  • attending to completionof transactions;
  • beingpart of a team on other commercial transactions, such as jointventures, management equity structures, etc; and
  • othercommercial contracts (not necessarily associated with capitalmarkets or M&A transactions) from time totime. 

Skills andexperience

We would liketo hear from you if you have the following skills andexperience:

  • 1-2years of PAE in corporate and commercial law;
  • experience in capitalmarkets or M&A transactions;
  • technical excellence anda can-do attitude; and
  • acommercially savvy approach to corporatetransactions.
