Program Overview

Join our dedicated Immediate Housing Response (IHR) team, this service provides support to access and sustain short term accommodation for people experiencing homelessness, or at imminent risk of homelessness with no other alternative accommodation or housing options. Via a case management framework, the Immediate Housing Response team provides proactive support services to assist people to stabilise their situation and aims to facilitate the transition to safe and secure housing. This position oversees two services, our IHRF service provides support to families and the IHRSC service provides support to both singles and couples.

To Be Successful You Will Need

  • The Ability to effectively lead a team at a senior level to deliver service programs and ensure they remain aligned with organisational goals and objectives.
  • Extensive experience working within government funded programs. 
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including government bodies, community organisations, and other service providers to promote the organisation and its services.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with the capacity to motivate and effectively lead a team. 
  • Prior people management experience including recruitment, rostering, supervision, coaching and providing feedback, as well as performance management. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of organisational programs, policies, and operations.
  • Tertiary qualifications combined with relevant industry experience or extensive industry experience. 
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families and communities will be highly regarded. 
  • Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds will be highly regarded. 
  • Out of hours may be required from time to time
  • Intra and interstate travel may be required

Compliance 

  • A current QLD drivers licence ‘Class C’ or interstate equivalent
  • Blue Card (Working with children card)
  • A current national Police Check (within the last 3 months)
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certifications
