Job Summary
This role is crucial for individuals with hands-on experience in the maintenance and overhaul of various types of rotating equipment. As a Rotating Equipment Engineer in our department, you will be a central figure in maintaining and repairing key equipment for one of the most advanced energy companies globally.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for the repair and overhaul of rotating equipment, including dismantling, diagnosing, assembling, testing, and issuing related technical reports.
- Offer technical consultation to Shops Operating Repair Units and Contractor Shops.
- Support field installation, maintenance, and repair of rotating equipment.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and modify existing equipment, focusing on cost reductions and process improvements.
- Prepare design engineering packages for rotating equipment.
- Conduct technical investigations for shop repair return jobs to identify root causes, corrective actions, and lessons learned.
- Implement the latest technology in repair methodology.
- Develop and revise the department's technical procedures and standards.
- Coach and share knowledge with junior engineers, quality inspectors, and technicians.
- Provide technical input for purchasing specifications, including technical proposal evaluation.
- Liaise with department engineers, Consulting Services Department (CSD), other company departments, and manufacturers.
- Collaborate with In-House Repair Units, Quality Assurance units, In-Kingdom Contractors, vendors, and manufacturers in shop repair work scopes.
- Participate in vendor and customer exchange meetings.
Requirements:
- This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Abqaiq and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in the mechanical field, particularly with rotating equipment.
- Proven experience in mechanical design, troubleshooting, and major repair of oil and gas rotating equipment such as gas compressors, steam turbines, pumps, and gearboxes.
- Experience in an original equipment manufacturing facility or certified repairing facility for steam turbines, gas compressors, and diesel engines.
- Excellent proficiency in English reading and writing.
