The Role

Reporting to the Team Lead Mine Geologist, this position is a key hands-on technical role of the Geology team for our world class Mt Holland Earl Grey Lithium Mine and is responsible to ensure best practice Mine Geology standards are upheld and continually improved.

This is a permanent, FIFO role ex Perth to Mt Holland on an 8:6 roster.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate Pit Technicians 
  • Work closely and collaboratively with other Mining and Processing professionals to continually drive and maximise the projects commercial outcome
  • Manage and monitor daily production activities
  • Plan, schedule and budget grade control and resource development drilling
  • Stockpile management and reporting
  • Contribute to the deposit geological model via mapping, modelling and estimation
  • Assist and complete End of Month reconciliations
  • Report of geological activities to the Senior Mine Geologist and other stakeholders

Role Requirements

  • Tertiary Qualification in Geology
  • Minimum of 18 months’ post graduate experience predominately in open pit gold or lithium mining
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising drill rigs
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of Ore Mining techniques and collaborative close working relationships with Mine Engineers, Surveyors, and Mine Operators
  • Proficient in the use of Mining/Geological software (Surpac & Leapfrog Geo preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of Run of Mine Stockpile Management 
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to build positive relationships and engage people across all levels of the organisation.
  • The ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment and ability to manage conflicting deadlines
