Mott MacDonald is a dynamic and innovative engineering, management and development consultancy working with high profile clients across Australia.
We have secured exciting projects across the dams and hydropower sector and are seeking candidates to join our global Dams team. As a collaborative provider of dam engineering services with a growing portfolio of projects, we have been engaged in the study, design, and delivery of major dam projects for over 80 years.
We are open to this role being based in a variety of locations, which includes our Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide offices.
Your opportunity
As a Technical Director in Dams and Hydropower, you’ll provide senior leadership and direction to the design of large, multidisciplinary projects, providing technical support, project management, and professional guidance to aid your team's development.
The role includes connecting into our Global Dams and Hydropower capability and capacity to bring the best of Mott MacDonald to our Australian clients and growing a team aligned to client needs. You’ll be collaborating with a team of engineers and technical specialists, preparing feasibility studies, calculations, and outline/detailed civil engineering designs.

About you
- Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering, ideally chartered with local registration.
- Demonstrated leadership experience of dams, reservoirs, and hydraulics
- Enthusiasm to lead a team and be a key technical mentor to a larger team of experienced professionals.
- Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and complex projects, including managing key clients and other project stakeholders.
