Ingeteam Australia has a full-time opportunity for a grid integration engineer to support the engineering and grid connection process of large-scale utility solar PV and battery energy storage systems across Australia. You will be joining a highly technical and specialised engineering team interacting with both our Australian and Spanish based colleagues to develop and support the grid modelling and grid connection process for our customers, developers, consultants, EPCs, network service providers & AEMO.

Responsibilities

• Support local grid modelling and power systems engineering consultants with grid connection process of large-scale PV, BESS and hybrid renewable energy projects.
• Design and develop power systems for renewable energy projects, including run, test and analyse scenarios in PSCAD & PSSE.
• Developing technical requirements for connection application (familiar with NER & AEMO registration process).
• Support customers during the entire R0, R1 & R2 grid connection processes.
• Conduct electrical load forecast studies to determine power requirements.
• Work closely with commercial and commissioning teams.
• Support customers with state-of-the-art advanced inverters, hybrid DC/AC coupled PV + BESS inverter-based technologies.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve power system reliability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address power system constraints and limitations.

Requirements

• Degree Qualified in Electrical Engineering (specialising in power engineering preferred).
• Experience in power system modelling and simulations ideally in inverter-based generation.
• Knowledge of the NEM grid connection process with NSPs and AEMO.
• Proficient in power system simulation software (e.g. PSSE, PSCAD).
• Renewable energy industry experience in Wind, Solar or BESS projects.
• In-depth knowledge of power system design and analysis techniques.
• Familiarity with renewable energy technologies and practices.
