YOUR ROLE

Join our dynamic team as a Lead Underwriter, Workers Compensation, where you will play a pivotal role in driving our business and operational objectives forward. In this key position, you’ll provide expert underwriting support, specializing in larger and more complex risks and will guide the team to achieve growth, profit, and retention targets. You’ll also take charge of account management activities, focusing on renewals and new business opportunities in the Northern Territory market. Additionally, you will manage an underwriting assistant to streamline operations, including processing, inbox management, and renewal actions.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity with hybrid working conditions and is open to our IAG offices in Perth and Darwin. If you are based in Perth, an earlier start – earlier finish may be required to accommodate time difference with the Northern Territory.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally meet the below criteria:

  1. Strong underwriting experience in workers’ compensation / general insurance
  2. Workers’ compensation underwriting experience of policies having premiums in excess of $100,000 (preferably)
  3. Insurance qualification at ANZIIF Associate level or Tertiary qualification in related financial field
  4. Essential HSC or equivalent qualifications
  5. Great stakeholder management skills and the ability to create relationships quickly
