The Currajong School located in Malvern East, provides a positive and inclusive environment for children with social, emotional and behavioural needs. At Currajong, small class sizes ensure the children are well-known, and programs are tailored to their individual needs. We place emphasis on learning and programs that develop academic, personal, social, behavioural and emotional needs to develop their independence.

The Currajong School is recruiting for a full time Leader of Teaching and Learning. The start date for the position will be at the commencement of Term Three 2024 or as negotiated with the Principal.

This is an ongoing position with a three-year appointment to the position of Leader of Teaching and Learning

The Leader of Teaching and Learning has responsibility for the operational implementation of the school strategic direction in ‘Curriculum Planning and Assessment’ and ‘Building Practice Excellence’ in consultation with the Principal and Assistant Principal. Key elements of this responsibility relate to the quality of teaching and learning at The Currajong School, the management of curriculum & assessment, development of professional learning for all staff, mentoring of staff and uphold the schools vision, mission and philosophy.

About you:

  • Experience leading teaching and learning, curriculum, assessment and reporting
  • Passionate and experienced in special education; especially students with social and emotional needs and supporting students.
  • Current VIT
  • Qualifications in special education an advantage, or an interest in exploring this
