Are you seeking a highly visible and rewarding Manager, Corporate Affairs role and ready to take your next step? Based in Sydney, Australia and reporting to the Senior Director, Corporate Affairs, this role will actively drive corporate media relations, corporate reputation building, financial communications, and issues management for the company. The role requires the candidate to enjoy being ‘hands on’, with a high degree of autonomy, the ability to operate in uncertainty in a matrixed organization.
This is a high-visibility, high-pressure role. The successful candidate will be a decisive, results-oriented leader who can develop and manage relationships across the company and with a wide variety of partners based on trust, teamwork and domain expertise.
About the Role:
In the role of Manager, Corporate Affairs you will be:
- Delivering publicity campaigns targeted to APAC / Asia & Emerging Markets audience
- Working with the global PR team to deliver publicity campaigns in the region, ranging from proactively pitching Reuters stories to media across Asia-Pacific to overseeing new product launches and strategic commercial priorities in the region. This requires the post-holder to build strong relationships with key regional media as well as strategic use of owned channels.
- Overseeing reputational issues in the region, working with the core senior team on statements, social media, broadcast requests, blog posting and local media relations.
- Providing support for Thomson Reuters and communications priorities in the region, working with the corporate communications team to align with their strategic goals and help to tell the wider TR story in APAC.
- Proactively pitching Reuters journalists to broadcast media across the region to promote Reuters content, as well as handling media requests in times of breaking news. Alongside this, working with external organizations to promote Reuters journalists as speakers and experts in their subject at events across the region.
- Contributing to Thomson Reuters events with Reuters journalists involved as speakers or moderators, working on client emails and ensure materials reflect TR priorities, promoting Reuters content and sharing content for use on social media, as part of wider marketing campaigns.
- Being an active member of the PR and Communications team, contributing to weekly updates and taking part in brainstorms and strategy discussions. Sharing best practices from the region with colleagues.
About You:
You're a fit for the role of Manager, Corporate Affairs if your background includes:
- Experience in external communications for the Asia-Pacific region, including skills in crisis communications, publicity, social media, events and marketing.
- Experience in operating as spokesperson on corporate, financial and crisis communications, engaging directly with the media on a regular basis, including managing relationship.
- Skills in developing and executing integrated strategies that help realize our company’s purpose and drive responsible growth/revenue.
- Experience working in a large matrixed organisation.
- Decisive, results-oriented leadership style, able to develop and manage relationships across the company and with a wide variety of partners based on trust, teamwork and domain expertise
