The Purpose:

This role will deliver data and analytical insights for Fraud Prevention & Risk Operations with a focus on identifying and mitigating fraudulent activity. Utilizing a combination of data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling techniques, the Data Analyst will contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of fraud detection and prevention strategies. 

Primary Accountabilities, Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Analyse large datasets to identify potential fraudulent activities and patterns. 
    • Monitor and analyse fraud metrics and trends to identify new patterns and areas of focus. 
    • Capture and interpret data from a range of sources and communicate these findings across departments, demonstrating an analytical and inquisitive mindset. 
    • Manage data quality and ensure actionable uses organisation-wide, showing autonomy in identifying and responding to complex issues. 
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement fraud prevention measures and enhance fraud detection capabilities. 
    • Deliver solutions and innovations in the data space that will support business goals, contributing to creative thinking and finding new ways to complete tasks and increase efficiency. 

Key Competencies and Skills:

    • 3+ years of experience in Data and Insights within a Fraud and/or business context. 
    • Strong experience with Power BI, Power pivot, Power query, DAX, SQL & Python 
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
    • Knowledge of data platforms, technology and infrastructure. 
    • Knowledge of fraud detection techniques and tools.
