Are you an experienced Heavy Vehicle Motor Loss Assessor? You must be a trade qualified Panel Beater, Diesel Mechanic or Spray Painter. AAMC have a full-time position available now for a Heavy Motor Vehicle Assessor servicing Cairns and QLD.

Motor Vehicle Assessors

Our Assessors work in specific and surrounding areas, providing a service unparalleled in this industry - careful, expert, reliable and fast – a hard working attitude – where going the extra mile is part of what we do, every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake Heavy Motor and Machinery Motor vehicle loss assessments
  • Prepare and submit repair and total loss assessment reports
  • Complete written off vehicle report and salvage instructions
  • Complete heavy motor and machinery assessments via images in remote locations
  • Monitor and report on a managed repair process for large heavy motor vehicles and machinery losses
  • Contact vehicle repairers, vehicle owners and insurance companies as required ensuring completion
  • Conduct follow ups, including re-inspections as required
  • Develop professional relationships with vehicle repairers throughout the region
  • Negotiating, monitoring, and communicating outcomes to vehicle owner/driver as per legislation
  • Undertake travel when required, at times interstate
  • Know when to liaise at a higher level on technical or customer service issues
  • Communicate professionally – with everyone
  • National Australian Police Check and Traffic History Check will be required for the successful applicant

Your Expertise - will include

  • Automotive (Spray Painting/Mechanical/Panel Beating) Trade qualification at least to Certificate III
  • Experience with heavy motor vehicle and machinery insurance claims procedures
  • Proven ability to write reports on heavy motor vehicle and machinery loss assessments
  • Current Motor Vehicle License
  • Willingness to participate in AAMC’s professional development training opportunities
  • Thorough knowledge of the insurance legislation as it applies to Motor Loss Assessing
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
  • High degree of motivation and initiative, combined with professional integrity
  • Fantastic time and self-management skills
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands
  • Computer and keyboard skills, proven ability to learn new software packages
  • Calm and measured behaviour in a catastrophe situation
