Civil Engineering Drafter

With over 20 years of experience in boulder wall engineering & construction, SANSTONE ENGINEERING PTY LTD is currently looking to expand our business. We specialize in designing, engineering, and constructing various types of retaining walls, including sandstone walls, concrete sleeper walls, and more. Our distinguished retaining wall services offer comprehensive solutions for customer landscaping needs.
Role Description- Coordinate and support multidisciplinary 3D designs, with a focus on water and wastewater mains.
- Develop conceptual and detailed civil drafting adhering to statutory requirements and technical specifications.
- Prepare comprehensive design documentation for drainage, sewer, water reticulation, and associated infrastructure.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities in utility design and planning, including protection and relocation of water, telecommunication, gas, and power systems.
- Utilize 2D and 3D computer-aided design (CAD) applications for data analysis and civil project visualization.
- Collaborate closely with fellow designers and engineers within multidisciplinary teams to ensure precision and meet project deadlines.
- Ensure alignment of documentation with related disciplines such as planning, surveying, traffic management, electrical engineering, and landscaping.
- Conduct site inspections and oversee maintenance activities coordination.
- Gather pertinent information from specialized analysis reports.
- Estimate project costs and monitor construction progress to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Perform self-assessment of design drawings, models, and calculations against established standards, codes, and internal protocols.
- Maintain meticulous documentation for all civil projects.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software operations, drafting methods, and general engineering workflows.
- Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards.
- Contribution to a positive and collaborative work environment through knowledge sharing and learning from colleagues.
- Strong commitment to safety, with experience and proficiency in safety procedures.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Self-motivated with a continuous drive to develop and refine skills.
- Positive can-do attitude and cooperative manner towards clients and coworkers.
- Efficient time management to meet project deadlines.
- Commitment to safety standards and procedures.
- Flexibility to work in various environments.
- Good communication skills with clients and stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
