The Role
Ventia are currently seeking a SHEQ Advisor who will be responsible for the implementation, monitoring and governance of SHEQ programs, systems and processes for the AGFMA contract. This role acts as the key interface between the SHEQ Manager and operational delivery. 

The Across Government Facilities Management Arrangement (AGFMA) for the Government of South Australia provides facilities management services for over 3500 Government-owned sites across 25 Government Agencies. Ventia will partner with local small to medium businesses to help deliver these services to the community of South Australia, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

The responsibilities of the position include but not limited to:

  • Implement the project Health and Safety objectives at Agency and site level.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of broader company strategies, initiatives, programs and leading Health and Safety practices.
  • Working collaboratively across the contract, implement the Health and Safety management plans, emergency response and business continuity planning.
  • Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with Ventia Health and Safety Management System, Legislative and other requirements.
  • Lead and manage ICAM and Serious Incident investigations and drive learnings into the site and wider business as required.
  • Ensure Ventia SHEQ standards are incorporated into the workplace.

About you:

  • Certificate IV in WHS. (Required)
  • Lead Investigator training – ICAM. (Required)
  • Lead Auditor qualification. (Highly regarded) 
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of legislation, standards and codes of practice.
  • Demonstrated experience leading investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.
  • Undertake audits to establish process implementation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills Communicating and consulting with a large contractor workforce.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role and industry.
