Job Title: Full Stack Developer (React Mobile and Web Expert)

Company Overview:
We are a dynamic and innovative startup company located in Hawthorn, Melbourne, on a mission to disrupt the medical industry with ground-breaking technology solutions. As we embark on our exciting journey, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full Stack Developer, with expertise in mobile and web development. Our tech stack is React/React Native, Typescript and GraphQL with our systems running in AWS. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in the React and mobile development and deployment space, and experience building and deploying backends hosted in AWS.

Position Overview:
As a Full Stack Developer, you will play a crucial role in the development and deployment of our cutting-edge software applications. Your technical proficiency, problem-solving abilities, and creativity will be instrumental in shaping our product offerings and driving our success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full Stack Development: Design, develop, and maintain software applications, with a strong focus mobile development (AWS, and React for iOS, Android and Web apps). Experience with Cognito authentication and integration with third party API’s, and experience using the Expo toolset will be an advantage. 
  • Frontend and Backend Development: Work on both the frontend and backend of our applications, ensuring a seamless user experience and robust server-side functionality.
  • Self Directed and Autonomous: Working with an Agile development team, it is important that you are autonomous and able to be self directed, task driven and able to participate (or run) Agile ceremonies.
  • Code Optimization: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, and continuously optimize existing code for performance.
  • Testing and Debugging: Conduct unit testing and debugging to ensure the reliability and stability of our applications.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for code, APIs, and software architecture.
  • Technology Evaluation: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and evaluate their potential impact on our product development.

We are a small development team that is growing to support an ambitious program of work to revolutionise the delivery of medical services leveraging emerging technologies. As we grow, we are keen to establish a fun, professional and trustworthy team with a flexible work environment. Part of our growth is having new team members contribute to and grow our team’s capability and culture. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Full Stack Developer and able to demonstrate experience in mobile app/web app development and deployment. (Expo a plus)
  • Proficiency in front-end development with React, and responsive design. Experience with UI frameworks (such as Material UI) an advantage.
  • Experience with database systems (e.g., DynamoDB, Redis).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and build pipelines
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced Agile startup environment. 


Location:
This position is based in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
