Psychiatry Registrar

I want to help prevent and alleviate suffering for the sickest, poorest, and most vulnerable people through epidemiology and public health.

I have 4 years experience in clinical psychiatry as a medical doctor treating patients with mental illness. My main field of research is social psychiatry.

I also have over 8 years' experience as a biostatistician accredited by an AStat from the Statistical Society of Australia.

I have published 20 articles on PubMed with over 600 Google Scholar citations.

I have also carried out research in the areas of poverty, crime, social disadvantage, perinatal drug abuse, prematurity, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, children with disabilities, mental health, out of home care, addiction, Aboriginal Health, communicable diseases (influenza, Tuberculosis, syphilis, HIV, sexually transmitted infections), cancer, heart disease, smoking cessation, breastfeeding, crime, health and well-being, health education and aged care.

• Worked in a high turn over Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre attached to an Emergency Department.
• Worked in Addiction Dual Diagnosis, Old Age Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry.
• Completed 3 year Education Program in Psychiatry at the Brain and Mind Research Institute
• Completed the Opioid Substitution Treatment Accreditation Course
