Our client is is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This company is an industry leader in the renewable energy industry, specialising in the design of high-voltage infrastructure such as transmission substations, wind farms, solar farms, and battery storage systems.

Responsibilities

  • Hold technical and supervisory responsibilities for developing high-quality designs for primary HV systems
  • Support Principal Engineers in developing earthing design solutions, arc flash risk assessments, conductor and busbar size assessments, short circuit force assessments, electrical field strength assessments, and other primary engineering design work
  • Contribute to the overall design capability as part of a core professional engineering team
  • Design Motor Control Centres, specify and select instrumentation, develop design deliverables (cable schedules, equipment lists, instrument lists), design Single Line, Schematics and Termination Diagrams
  • Tender and evaluate major equipment, write reports
  • Work independently and in a team environment, instruct and manage designers/draftspeople
  • Perform site work, commissioning, and travel to remote locations as required
  • Communicate effectively and liaise with clients

The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills, creative problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills (oral and written), professional conduct, and a commitment to continuous learning and development.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role in the high-voltage (HV) electrical industry
  • Expertise in substation design and/or utility grid connections
  • Strong knowledge of Australian industry standards
  • High-level communication and stakeholder management skills
