The Lead Petrophysicist position at Orica offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of cutting-edge technologies that are revolutionizing the Mining and Infrastructure sectors. As a trusted advisor and subject matter expert in geoscience workflows within the industry, you will play a crucial role in processing and interpreting geoscience data to ensure that customers derive maximum value from Orica products.

Based in the Welshpool office in Perth, Western Australia, you will work with a friendly and supportive team to mentor geoscience teams, manage geophysical and geological interpretation projects, and provide expert guidance to enhance the company's mining operations and growth strategies.

•  Processing and interpretation of Borehole Magnetic Resonance jobs, and development of related answer products.
• Oversight of processing work on a broad range of downhole survey data such as image logs, but with a strong focus on nuclear magnetic resonance applications in lithium brine and insitu recovery of uranium
• Develop and maintain a complete understanding of all the commercial product/services offered by Orica;
• Primary customer focal point for interpretation of geoscience data;
• Publish technical papers related to Orica’s product offering and peer review of all case studies / marketing material;
• Identify consulting and answer product opportunities and facilitate integrated geoscience solutions;

• Geophysics related degree, petroleum engineering or geology;
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in technical role
• Well-developed mentoring and coaching skills;
• Proven influencer, able to manage processes across multiple stakeholder groups;
• Experience with WellCAD, Geo Log or similar and NMR nuclear magnetic resonance.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, including prioritization, planning, task delegation, and coordination across multiple teams.
