The Wood Minerals & Metals team is currently delivering critical metals projects, including Copper, Nickel, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals. This portfolio of projects ranges from studies through to EPCM packages working on developments in Australia and internationally – Australia through to Europe, Middle East Africa, and Asia.

Role: Principal Electrical Engineer

Wood is recruiting for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Brisbane team in our Minerals & Metals division.

This is a full-time position to join our varied work scopes across studies and sustaining capital work packages. We are looking for experienced Senior Engineers who bring a breadth of experience from concept through to execution within an EPCM environment and have worked across a wide range of base metal commodities.

In addition, we are looking for individuals with:

  1. Tertiary qualification from a recognized institute, ideally with post-graduate studies
  2. Chartered Engineer or recognized equivalent
  3. Experience working with high-value engineering centers and in an engineering consultant environment
  4. Excellent communication skills when working with cross-functional teams within the project and client office to provide guidance and input with regards to instrument specifications and modifications
  5. Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (AS, IEC, ASME, ASTM, ANSI, API, etc)
  6. Ability to lead and develop your team in their career goals and operational requirements
  7. A proven track record for delivering projects within scope, budget, and schedule
  8. High voltage Power design experience
