Tell me about this role:
Jacobs are searching for Software Engineers/Developers to plan and manage the delivery of software development tasks within the Defence critical Defence Projects.
This role offers uncapped training and development opportunities as well as other benefits including free parking, flexible working and different leave arrangements including paid parental, study, reserve and volunteer leave.
What will I be doing day to day?
- Design and develop a suite of bespoke semi-autonomous software applications using agile methodologies
- Provide software development best practise methodologies with important consideration to application security
- Produce various technical and non-technical documentation
- Operate within the technical governance frameworks of Defence, specifically with a focus on ICT and cyber security
- Communicate complex technical and operational subjects to a wide audience
What sort of skills do I need?
- Tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Telecommunication or a related discipline
- 5+ years’ experience working in a software development team
- Experience delivering products in an Agile and/or DevOps environment
- Experience in
- Software development (Python, RESTful API, JavaScript)
- Linux & Windows
- Networking (Cisco or similar)
- Automation (Ansible, Puppet)
- Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
- VMWare
- Australian citizenship and an NV1 clearance as a minimum
