About the Role

The Executive Policy, Strategy and Innovation provides executive direction and leadership as part of the firsthealth Executive team. This position leads strategies to identify and develop new partnerships, business, and funding opportunities that further the strategic priorities and innovation agenda of the organisation. The Executive leads a highly skilled team that supports work across the organisation including the provision of advice, project management, design and implementation of strategic projects and initiatives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the development of the firsthealth strategic direction.
  • Develop and implement growth strategies aligned with long-term business plan.
  • Develop and embed effective governance mechanisms to support the innovation framework.
  • Lead and coordinate the preparation of business cases, tenders and grants for funding.
  • Oversee compliance with funding obligations and performance requirements.
  • Maintain a high level of understanding of primary health reform including PHN performance.
  • Comply with legislative and contractual requirements.
  • Provide timely strategic reporting to CEO.
  • Attend meetings, conferences, and functions within and outside of usual work hours including overnight travel to other regions as required.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business administration, marketing, health and/or at least 5 years demonstrated experience in senior leadership roles in a relevant field.
  • Previous relevant experience in business development and innovation.
  • Extensive experience in stakeholder management and relationship development.
  • Ability to use systems thinking and problem-solving skills to explore a wide range of complex issues to inform the design and implementation of solutions.
  • Ability to develop high quality tender documentation and submissions to facilitate business development.
  • Extensive experience reporting to and facilitating positive outcomes with Boards, executives and senior leaders within an organisation of similar size.
  • Knowledge of health system and challenges in primary health care.
