Role Summary

Based in the Thames Business Unit office with overall responsibility for the management and success of a number of projects, including customer relations, health and safety, quality, environmental, programme and the cost/value of operations under his/her control.

What you will be doing

  • Assist with the establishment and delivery of the objectives and targets contained within the Annual Business Unit Business Plan;
  • Maintaining effective and long-term relationships with internal and external customers and their representatives/advisors;
  • Implementing and maintaining Tilbury Douglas' Strategy and Policies for Sustainability, Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental, Training and Development etc;
  • Ability to prioritise and meet pre-defined deadlines; Ensuring the project teams comply with the Companies Business Management System;
  • Being proactive in the identification and resolution of problems;
  • Reviewing methods of working, alternative materials etc in order to maximise commercial profitability; Managing, monitoring, supporting, mentoring and counselling members of the project teams in their personal development;
  • Undertaking annual appraisal for staff directly reporting to the role; Seeking and developing ongoing continuous improvement; Providing aftercare services to the customers;
  • Directly supervises a number of project teams comprising project and site managers, engineers, quantity surveyors and foremen etc;
  • Any other duties relevant to the job role. To support and be familiar with own role and responsibility in respect of Business Continuity Planning. Ensuring that team members are also aware of the plans and communicates same.

What we will need from you

  • Experience in a similar Contract Management role for a main contractor (desirable);
  • Experience as a Project Manager or similar for a main contractor (essential Degree (or equivalent) in appropriate construction related subject (desirable);
  • Professional Qualification e.g. CIOB (desirable); CITB Level 3 Safety Course (essential);
  • Appropriate CSCS Card (essential). High level of leadership and management skills;
  • Technical experience and knowledge (desirable);
  • High level of Commercial and Financial ability;
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills;
  • Experience in a similar role (desirable);
  • Experience as a Project Manager or similar.High level of leadership and management skills (essential);
