Our client is looking for a IT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Lead who will be responsible for managing the development, implementation, testing and continuous improvement of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans and procedures for Technology systems.

This is a 6+ Month contract with the possibility of the role converting to a permanent, as well as a management, one in the future. Location will be in the Melbourne Northwestern suburbs and may support a hybrid role (2 days home and 3 days office) for the right candidate.

  • The requisite skill and experience defined below,
  • At least Australian Permanent Residence working rights,
  • At least 5+ year's relevant local working experience in the Technology Disaster Recovery field.

Experience Required:

  • 5+ years experience in IT Disaster Recovery Management and Planning within complex organisations (Tier 1 or 2).
  • Exceptional communication skills to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders with ability to communicate to C level.
  • Proficiency in Disaster Recovery management tools/software.
  • Experience in data backup and recovery tools and procedures.
  • Experience in managing vendors.
  • Knowledge and experience working with CyberVault for recovery testing is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strong positive working relationships with colleagues across Technology, business stakeholders and suppliers to ensure effective and efficient ways of working.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and their implications for disaster recovery planning.
  • Knowledge of specific threats and vulnerabilities within airlines, logistics and/or transportation industry would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge/ Experience with Standard recovery frameworks like NIST SP 800-34 or PECB ISO 22301.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Highly organised, able to prioritise work, leadership skills and an attention to detail.
  • A continuous improvement mindset.

Reporting requirements:

  • Compliance with standards and regulations such as Essential 8 and SOCI.
  • Disaster Recovery readiness.
  • Risks, issues, gaps and non-compliances.
  • Test reports and schedules.
