Liontown Resources Limited (ASX: LTR) is an ASX100 company with a focus on battery minerals. Our Kathleen Valley Lithium Project in Western Australia is a Tier 1 battery metals asset with excellent grade and scale. It is one of the largest and highest-grade hard rock lithium deposits in the world and is at the forefront of our vision to support the world's transition to a low-carbon future. It is one of the few lithium projects globally in construction today with first production on track for mid-2024.

About the role

Liontown Resources Limited is seeking applications for a Senior Ventilation Engineer to join our growing mining team. This will be a site based permanent opportunity working a 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth and staying in our newly built dragon fly village in Kathleen Valley.

You will be joining Liontown at a pivotal point, with the Mount Mann pit now complete and we have commenced development on our underground operations. Our underground will be unique, due to the amount of movement and size of our ore body we will be starting 6 portals to support the one-way truck circuit which will enhance safety and efficiency.

Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Planning, you will be responsible for preparing and implementing the Ventilation Control Plan as required by the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022. The Senior Ventilation Engineer will also hold the statutory appointment as Underground Ventilation Officer under Schedule 26 of the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our newly established mining department as we move Kathleen Valley from construction/development to operations. We have a world-class underground operation with a 23 year mine life mining at 4Mtpa.

About you

  • Relevant qualification or operational industry experience.
  • Understanding of WHS Risk Management units required for a Schedule 26 appointment is highly regarded
  • Proven experience in a relevant underground operational role, as an underground ventilation engineer
  • Competent in Ventsim software
  • Knowledge of mining practices, safety regulations, and environmental standards in Australia.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Proficiency in using mining software and other relevant tools for production planning and analysis.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
  • Have obtained a National Police Clearance within the last 6 months or have the ability to obtain one.
  • Able to pass a Pre-Employment medical and Drug and Alcohol screen.
