About the role

Mater Private Hospital Townsville is currently seeking applications from a motivated and qualified Registered Midwife or Dual Qualified Registered Nurse/Midwife to join the team.

Based at Hyde Park, this is a permanent, full-time position where you will work across a range of areas including Birth Suites, Postnatal, Antenatal and Special Care Nursery.

Salary range: $40.27 - $51.74 (Registered Nurse Level 1) per hour plus superannuation and salary packaging + an increase on 1 July 2024

What you’ll be doing

Key responsibilities and duties include:

• Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care
• Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care
• Implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
• Working collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every time
• Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth

About you

To be successful in your application, you will have:

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse/Midwife (no restrictions)
• Minimum of 12 months’ experience full-time equivalent clinical experience working as a Registered Nurse/Midwife
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally
• Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening, negotiation and decision-making skills
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Commitment to ensuring the levels of service is delivered to patients at all times
