Restuarant Manager

This is an incredibly unique opportunity, as we have not needed to advertise for this position externally for nine years.

We pride ourselves on creating an unforgettable farm-to-table experience, working closely with our chefs, winemakers, and in-house farmers to showcase the best of what our organically certified properties have to offer.

The Role

As the Venue Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the high standards of Polperro Winery.

Responsibilities:

• Leading and inspiring a talented team of hospitality professionals
• Manage all aspects of the venue, including staffing, scheduling, and budgeting
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
• Overseeing daily operations to ensure seamless service and exceptional guest satisfaction
• Manage inventory and supplies, including ordering and restocking as needed
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders
• Ensure that the venue is clean, well-maintained, and presentable at all times
• Manage and train staff, including hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluations
• Collaborating with chefs, winemakers, and farmers to create a cohesive and extraordinary dining experience.
• Working cohesively with key stakeholders: Kitchen, Reservations, Marketing, Finance & Accommodation Manager.
• Building a Sales culture , achieving revenue and cost budgets.
• Contributing to the strategic direction and growth of the business as part of the senior leadership team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in venue management or a related field
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Knowledge of event planning and management
• Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance requirements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
• Flexibility to work during the winery's operational hours: Wednesday to Sunday for lunch and one evening service per week.
