About the Agency
The Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing (ORSR) is the lead agency for the Government's policy on sport and active recreation. ORSR is responsible for State Government policy and legislation as it relates to the sector, its key programs, sport and recreation infrastructure and funding programs. The ORSR supports sport and recreation organisations, Councils and the community through the development of policy, programs and resources, the provision of funding, recreation and sport planning, infrastructure development, elite sport pathways and programs, and the promotion of physical activity.

The Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing will be relocating to a brand new, state-of-the art facility at Mile End in September 2024. This new facility will be the home of the South Australian Sports Institute and will form part of a broader sports precinct which also encompasses the SA Athletics Stadium, Netball SA Stadium and the recently opened Australian Centre for Sports Aerodynamics.

About the Division - Sector Capability and Partnerships
ORSR's Sector Capability and Partnerships division is responsible for:

  • Providing a strategic and integrated approach to build the diversity, strength, capacity and sustainability of the South Australian sport and active recreation sector.
  • Program development, delivery of resources, partnerships and initiatives to educate, support and enhance the efforts of sport and recreation organisations and clubs to drive participation outcomes for an Active State.
  • Lead the implementation of the State Government's physical activity strategic priorities.
  • Leading the implementation of the Women in Sport Taskforce workplan.
  • Administering the Boxing and Martial Arts Act 2000.
  • Providing expert policy advice to the Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing on the South Australian racing industry (thoroughbred, harness and greyhound).

Role Details
The Manager, Projects and Partnerships reports to the Senior Manager, Sector Capability and Partnerships and is responsible for providing leadership to the Projects and Partnerships team including managing workloads, quality assurance and continuous improvement processes. The Manager, Projects and Partnerships is responsible for planning and leading the delivery of strategic initiatives, projects and partnerships that support the implementation of the Government s and ORSR strategic priorities.

Special Conditions

  • The Incumbent will be required to participate in the Agency's Performance Management Program.
  • The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
  • Some work outside of normal hours will be required.
  • Some interstate travel involving overnight absences will be required.
  • This role requires a working with children check.
