Role Overview:

As a Traffic Control Worker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of construction work zones by controlling traffic on and within the vicinity. Your responsibilities will include implementing established procedures and policies to maintain a safe environment for both internal/external workers and the public.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Control traffic flow in accordance with established procedures and safety regulations.
  • Set up and remove traffic control devices such as signs, cones, and barricades.
  • Direct vehicles and pedestrians to ensure safe passage through work zones.
  • Monitor work zone activity and report any safety hazards or incidents.
  • Communicate effectively with construction crew members, supervisors, and members of the public.
  • Follow designated hand signals and traffic control plans.
  • Adhere to all relevant safety standards and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Traffic Control Worker or similar role is essential.
  • Valid Traffic Control Certification.
  • Strong understanding of traffic control procedures and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
  • Willingness to follow safety protocols and procedures at all times.
  • Current driver's licence.
