The organisation
Our client is a leading organisation from the Education sector. They are recognised internationally for their excellence and outstanding performance. They are currently seeking for a Finance Business Analyst to join their team in Melbourne (permanent full-time position).

The role
This position upholds the perspective of the CFO group while serving the organisation's objectives by supporting key business initiatives/projects. Reporting to the Manager of Strategic Initiatives, this position will be responsible for driving solutions that enable the organisation’s vision, strategy, and objectives.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the preparation and evaluation of business cases for capital investments
  • Assessing financial feasibility of strategic projects (ROI, NPV, etc.)
  • Guiding investment decisions by providing relevant financial analysis
  • Developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies
  • Developing and maintaining financial models to support project planning
  • Preparing budgets and forecasts for capital and strategic projects
  • Conducting variance analysis, scenario modeling, and sensitivity analysis
  • Enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of financial modelling, financial planning, analysis, and reporting

Skills & experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (finance, commerce…)
  • Background in corporate finance, investment banking, or consulting
  • Advanced financial modelling skills coupled with excellent commercial acumen
  • Ability to think strategically, synthesize and solve complex problems
  • Strong communicator with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders
