Project Manager – Structural Steel Construction

Coastal Steel Fabrications is structural steel business providing the supply and installation of structural steel for residential, commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects.

We are offering the right candidate the opportunity to work for a well-established business, in a supportive environment, servicing clients from local builders to top tier construction firms in Sydney.

With our head office located on the Central Coast just minutes from the M1 at Somersby, the role would suit either someone looking for a lifestyle change or looking to be within easy commutable distance from Sydney or Newcastle.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director, this role will oversee the full life cycle of construction from fabrication, supply and installation.

  • Managing multiple projects of varying sizes incl. Tier 1 clients.
  • Design development including liaising with workshop detailers, engineers, architects and clients.
  • Preparing and executing health and safety plans in accordance with relevant health and safety regulations and client requirements.
  • Preparing and executing work plans and programs.
  • Programming and resourcing equipment and materials to successfully deliver a project.
  • Site visits.

Prerequisites

  • A strong background in Construction Project Management or having held a Project Engineer role.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret Architectural, Engineering and Fabrication drawings.
  • Strong communication, organizational and time management skills including problem solving.
  • Possess relevant tertiary qualification and / or relevant experience.
  • Preferred experience with BlueBeam, CAD or similar.
  • Attention to detail, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and consistency.
