Cyber Security Practice Lead

Job Summary:
As the Cyber Security Practice Lead you will report to Director of Cyber and be responsible for key aspects of the cyber practice such as work delivery, client engagement, team management and making sure the overall reputation of the organisation is growing. You will be given autonomy in the decisions regarding operational requirements, supported by the executive team and build off an existing network of clients and work.

What will you be doing?
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy aligned with organisational goals and industry standards covering commercial growth, delivery, and customer success
  • Lead and mentor a team of security professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Assess, prioritise, and mitigate security risks across the clients, including identifying vulnerabilities and recommending appropriate remediation measures
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of security controls, policies, and procedures to protect against threats and breaches for customers.
  • Stay abreast of emerging security technologies, trends, and threats, and provide strategic guidance on their potential impact for clients.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to integrate security into all aspects
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing regular updates and strategies for improvement.
  • Making commercially minded decisions to help grow the cyber practice and client base
  • Hiring and growing an A+ team of cyber professionals

Skills and experience required to succeed in this role?
  • Australian citizen – Must be able to obtain a NV1 Security Clearance.
  • Proven experience over a wide range of Cyber Security fields
  • Experience in making commercially minded decisions
  • Have previously run cybersecurity practices is highly desirable
  • Experience in scoping, costing and invoicing security work
  • Ability to influence culture and deliver outstanding leadership for their team
  • Strong communication skills – written and oral
  • Must be based in ACT
