Provides the strategic and tactical leadership for business continuity and crisis management that supports the achievement of ANZ’s strategic objectives and imperatives.
Leads Group Business Continuity & Crisis Management & Divisional Operational Risk (Business Continuity Directors) and broader communities of practice to drive and maintain ANZ’s organisational resilience as it relates to disruption risks, crisis management and Business Continuity controls and
Delivers a Business Continuity & Crisis Management framework based on industry best practices and emerging regulation to ensure ANZ has sound organisational resilience and its exposure to business disruption risks are mitigated and well managed to ensure ANZ can deliver on its purpose.
Drive Group wide education, awareness and continuous improvement as related to Business Continuity & Crisis Management.
What will your day look likeThis role is accountable for:
- Govern and Monitor Group Crisis Planning/Testing capability across the Group- working with Plan owners, Divisions, Command Center, Cyber SOC, Group security and other relevant stakeholders, including to design crisis testing.
- Own Post Incident review process (PIRs) and facilitate completion and reporting PIRs for incidents with a strong focus on incidents impacting Australia.
- Provide SME advice and assist with triage of Incidents and Crises as they occur.
- Work with stakeholders to continually evolve Crisis Frameworks including Testing design in step with regulatory and environmental changes. Strategically assess and challenge quality and alignment across the various Crisis Plans.
- Partnering with key internal stakeholders to build positive engagement and a strong culture of timely response to Business Continuity incidents and issues.
- Education and awareness of Business Continuity (BCM) and Crisis Management principles and behaviours promoting an integrated and holistic approach to BCM and Crisis Management.
- Ensure consistent and updated Business Continuity and Crisis Management information is communicated across the Group.
- Develop, maintain and promote Group policies for Business Continuity and Crisis management.
- Develop, maintain, and promote tools that enable the implementation of Business Continuity and Crisis Management in line with agreed policies.
- Monitor Division and Business unit compliance with agreed policies through regular discussions on implementation and testing activity. Support completion of relevant regulatory attestations at a Group level.
- Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to Divisions and Business Units on Business Continuity related issues e.g., treatment plans, strategies, testing, risk management and compliance.
- Provide regular reporting and insights on BCM activities, actions and emerging issues at a Group level.

- Business Continuity and Crisis Management, framework design and implementation.
- Industry frameworks and best practices as relates to Busines Continuity, Crisis Management and Operational Resilience
- Operational Risk Management frameworks and implementation in the context of Business Continuity Management
- Data analysis, reporting and insights oriented towards senior executives
- Relationship management with peers and senior executives
- Complex problem solving
- Communicating with impact and influence both verbal and written, suitable for senior executive / Committee audiences
- Process design and improvement.
- Project management and administration
