Engineer - Construction Materials Testing

Construction Materials Testing Laboratory based in Brisbane is currently looking to recruit an Engineer specializing in Construction Materials Testing.

Qualifications:
  1. Tertiary Qualifications or related discipline such as a Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
Experience:
  1. Minimum 2 years' experience in Construction materials testing (Concrete, Soil, Aggregate, Asphalt) in a similar role - preferred
  2. Good understanding of Quality Management Systems, ISO/IEC 17025, or ISO 9001 requirements
  3. Experience in Microsoft Office suite and any Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
Required Competencies:
  • Well-developed time management skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Good working knowledge of Laboratory Quality Management Systems
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, scheduling, and prioritizing work to meet deadlines
Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining and developing laboratory testing programs
  • Ensure that Quality Assurance is maintained in accordance with the Laboratory Quality Manual to satisfy ISO/IEC 17025 requirements
  • Interpret and effectively communicate test procedures, specifications, and results with team members, customers, and consultants
  • Lead a safety culture in the laboratory, actively promoting safe work practices, and controlling environmental conditions
  • This position will also require performing laboratory testing of soils, concrete, aggregate, and asphalt as per test standards

The annual salary for this position will be assessed based on the skills and knowledge of the successful applicant.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000
