The Royal Children’s Hospital’s (RCH) Vision is “A world where all kids thrive”.
RCH is a cornerstone member of the Melbourne Children’s Campus, partnering with Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics and The Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation.
RCH has cared for the children and young people of Victoria for more than 150 years since it was founded in 1870. A full range of paediatrics and adolescent health services are provided plus tertiary and quaternary care for the most critically ill and medically complex patients in Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and other states around Australia and overseas. The Hospital has more than 6,000 staff, a budget of $850M, 12 wards and 350 beds. Annually, the RCH has 300,000+ Specialist Clinic appointments, 90,000+ Emergency Department presentations and 20,000 elective surgeries.

About the Role:
This is a Fixed Term Part Time position to cover a Flexible Work Arrangement from 1 June 2024 to 1 June 2025 at 8 hours per fortnight within Support Services.
Working independently, this role will include staff supervision, allocation of work to staff and provision of support to staff to enable them to carry out their duties as required. As the Support Services Supervisor, you will demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, have good computer skills and have the ability to work cooperatively. You will be required to mentor staff and lead by example with inspiring leadership skills.
Your well-developed written and verbal communication skills combined with your interpersonal skills will provide you with the ability to work within a team environment. Your customer focus attention to detail will enable you to provide a high-level service to patients, families and colleagues.
Your skills and experience:
- Several years’ experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience in supervision andproficiency in the use of established administrative processes
- Demonstrated experience in quality support
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Knowledge of Safe Work practices and WH&S principles
- Experience in continuous improvement
