About the role

Based in the busy mining and manufacturing hub of Mackay, this is a great full-time opportunity for candidates who have the dedication to complete a 4-year apprenticeship with an established brand with strategic growth plans.

Austchrome offers customers a comprehensive and unparalleled range of reclamation and reconditioning technologies including chrome plating, hydraulic cylinder overhauls, machining services and thermal spray coating services.

Austchrome offers dedicated and specialised services for all aspects of repairs and our facility supports this process with modern equipment and experienced trade qualified operators. We are the experts in hydraulic cylinder manufacture and repair, component reclamation and surface technology solutions.

With large inspection bays, painting booths and dozens of overhead and jib cranes, our facility is tailor made to meet the largest reclamation requirements.

We are seeking high performing team players who are keen to start or progress their career through the completion of an apprenticeship in an engineering trade.

What you require to be eligible for the role:

• Ability to complete a practical scenario at our Workshop.
• Willingness to complete a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade.
• Proactively seek opportunities to develop trade skills and knowledge.
• Actively participate in the business by contributing to improvement initiatives.
• Be an enthusiastic team player.
• Have a strong commitment to safety.
• Prior work experience in an engineering field or the completion of certificate level courses through school is highly regarded.
