THE ROLE

The Principal Analytics Advisor is a new and senior role within the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing's Social Investment Analytics Unit.

Reporting to the Director, you will have the intellectual depth and agility to quickly become an expert in the Unit's sophisticated analytical methods. Your consulting skills and ability to lead complex projects will allow you to focus your expert knowledge and impact on scaling their application.

In your everyday work, you will be agilely deployed to provide expert strategic and technical advice about analytical methods to unit members and department wide stakeholders and to lead and deliver many of the unit's highest priority projects.

Alongside the Director, you will take responsibility for strategic planning to align the unit's work to the department's investment strategy. As part of the unit's management team, you will be involved in the decisions and work to maintain a productive and inspired work culture.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

  • Lead the design and ensure the successful delivery of complex analytical projects, including to advise on practical application of sophisticated analytical techniques or bespoke solutions where appropriate.
  • Work closely with other teams, obtaining buy-in from key stakeholders, to ensure project responses high impact, coordinated, and delivered within scope, and on time.
  • Provide expertise, leadership and guidance about the quality, accuracy and relevance of analytical techniques and analytical findings to build competency across the department and to advise senior management.
