Assett Group Services is a leader in the provision of asset maintenance services, specialising in the social housing sector. Due to rapid expansion and growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our team in our new premises located in Macquarie Park. Check us out at www.assett.com.au

Reporting to our Chief Financial Officer, as you grow into the role and make it your own, there will be potential to develop into either Finance Manager or ultimately Financial Controller positions. 

Due to the nature of the position, we will require this role to be onsite. Your duties will include ownership and management of all aspects of financial accounting including:

  • Trial Balance, GL and reporting
  • End to end payroll function
  • AR/AP processes 
  • Month and year-end processes
  • Tax compliance tasks including FBT, GST, payroll tax, and income tax
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Preparing budgets, forecast costs and revenues
  • Maintaining fixed asset register and depreciation calculations
  • Monitoring and reporting on accounting discrepancies
  • Supplier and contractor payments and reconciliations
  • Financial trend analysis
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within the finance function.

To be successful in the role, at a minimum you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting (e.g. Cert IV or Diploma)
  • Previous experience in accounting or finance role, preferably within the construction industry
  • A strong understanding of accounting standards, principles and practices and their application
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

We will consider it highly beneficial if you have experience with either: 

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central 
  • Dynamics 365 Finance
  • Xero
  • Consolidation
