Job Description

ConsMin is seeking 4 x Specialist HD Maintenance Fitters to join our Mobile Maintenance team at the Woodie Manganese Operation. Located in the heart of the Pilbara, this role offers a unique opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility with a privately owned manganese producer that boasts a life of mine of over 8 years.

Role Overview:

As a Specialist HD Maintenance Fitter, you will be a subject matter expert in maintaining mining excavator OEMS (Caterpillar & Komatsu) and will play a critical role in maintaining our mining and support vehicle fleet. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting emergency breakdown repairs and planned shut repairs.
  • Focusing on optimizing Excavator performance and availability (Caterpillar & Komatsu).
  • Leading maintenance teams during PM shutdown maintenance events.
  • Identifying recurrent breakdown trends and developing maintenance strategies.
  • Working collaboratively with apprentices, crew members and maintenance supervisors.

Requirements:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Previous experience with large mining excavator OEMs, particularly Caterpillar & Komatsu
  • Advanced understanding of hydraulic and electrical machine systems associated with large mining excavators.
  • Exceptional diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills for report writing and maintenance data analysis.
  • Experience training and mentoring apprentices.
  • Trade qualification as an HD Plant Mechanic.
  • Ability to interpret OEM manuals and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Air Conditioning Ticket (advantageous).
  • Current National Police Clearance (no older than 6 months).
  • Current C class driver's license (essential).
